A Greeting Card for My Mother

A Rose Greeting Card for Mothers Day

As I remember this Mothers Day sitting at my desk, thinking of all the good, bad, difficult and brilliant times my mom and I had together, I smile. I smile because I can see her smile. I see her laughing vibrantly while gently picking me up and off the ground after I had fallen from my bike. Smiling and encouraging me to get up and ride again. Those were the good old days. I remember when she went into a deep depression when my Father died. Yes, she bounced back from those dark days and I know she did it for her children. All six of us still needed her to be our “Mom”, to love us even when she didn’t feel love. Those were difficult times.

Greeting Card for a Mothers Love

It has been many years since I have physically seen my mom smile. As a matter of fact it has been 27 years, 4 months and 20 days since my mother passed away. At the time I didn’t know how to feel. All I knew was that she had suffered for many years from a chronic case of Asthma. I knew I didn’t like to see her in pain and as crazy as it sounds, death releases pain. I managed to convince myself and all that were within my circle of influence that she was in a better place and that I was okay. I was wrong. I was not okay and I limped through life with that statement pinned to my forehead everytime Mothers Day came around. Not anymore.

Today I offer this post as an “Olde to my Mom”, hopefully inspiring millions to send a Greeting Card to Moms all over the world. A Greeting Card for My Mother on Mothers day, proudly saying, “I love you Mom”. I can see her smile, I can feel her love, I can hear her vibrant laughter and I am happy because my mom is the happiest she has ever been sitting in heaven and smiling down on me.

My Greeting Card Life is Returning to Normal

April 26, 2010 By: The Card Sender Category: Personal Development

All I can say is WOW. This past year has been one of the busiest years of my life. This past year has convinced me that one person can do a lot but they cannot and should not try to do everything. I’ll give you a small glimpse of my extraordinary year. I attended two family reunions, numerous campouts with my Royal Ranger family, 16 business briefs, 32 Toastmasters club meetings, 4 vacations with my family, a children’s’ camp with my church and 2 funerals of family members. I know you may be asking yourself, Why is he talking about last year when we are almost half way finished with the current year? I am glad you ask that question. My answer is that I’ve been so busy and I just found the time to talk about my awesome but busy year. Warning to my friends and family, never allow your pursuits or distractions to take you completely away from the things you love to do. You will feel unsatisfied. It is almost like when you eat a big meal but it just didn’t hit the right spot. Your’re full but you wish you weren’t.

Most of you know that I am also a Sunday school teacher and this past year has been my most educational year in the ministry. My 3rd grade class has been the most intuitive class I have ever experienced. Granted I have only been teaching for 3 years. They are always asking questions, always requiring answers outside of the lesson plan. Forcing me to study, understand and embrace God more. It is a demanding yet rewarding environment.

Hopefully with many tasks slowing down I’ll be able to get back to surprising friends and family with a greeting card that will make them smile, laugh, think, sigh, remember, become motivated and all the other emotions we feel when someone remembers us…just because. Until next time.

Warmest Regards
