My Greeting Card Life is Returning to Normal

April 26, 2010 By: The Card Sender Category: Personal Development

All I can say is WOW. This past year has been one of the busiest years of my life. This past year has convinced me that one person can do a lot but they cannot and should not try to do everything. I’ll give you a small glimpse of my extraordinary year. I attended two family reunions, numerous campouts with my Royal Ranger family, 16 business briefs, 32 Toastmasters club meetings, 4 vacations with my family, a children’s’ camp with my church and 2 funerals of family members. I know you may be asking yourself, Why is he talking about last year when we are almost half way finished with the current year? I am glad you ask that question. My answer is that I’ve been so busy and I just found the time to talk about my awesome but busy year. Warning to my friends and family, never allow your pursuits or distractions to take you completely away from the things you love to do. You will feel unsatisfied. It is almost like when you eat a big meal but it just didn’t hit the right spot. Your’re full but you wish you weren’t.

Most of you know that I am also a Sunday school teacher and this past year has been my most educational year in the ministry. My 3rd grade class has been the most intuitive class I have ever experienced. Granted I have only been teaching for 3 years. They are always asking questions, always requiring answers outside of the lesson plan. Forcing me to study, understand and embrace God more. It is a demanding yet rewarding environment.

Hopefully with many tasks slowing down I’ll be able to get back to surprising friends and family with a greeting card that will make them smile, laugh, think, sigh, remember, become motivated and all the other emotions we feel when someone remembers us…just because. Until next time.

Warmest Regards

A Greeting Card for Toastmasters

September 05, 2009 By: The Card Sender Category: Appreciation For Business Building

Requesting dues in any organization during these tight economic times can prove difficult. Requesting dues for a non-profit volunteer organization can be very difficult.

When I was president of our Toastmasters Club in Georgia I would cringed when it was time to collect dues. I truly didn’t have a reason except for the way teh dues were requested. I always thought there had to be a more cordial way to ask for the semi-annual dues. Our old way was to ask the member through our meetings, word of mouth from members and of course email. We woould mail out a dues letter to the “hard to contact” members that hadn’t responded to the first three ways. There had to be a better way.

Because I SendOutCards all the time, I knew I could combined sending out cards with reminding members t pay their dues. I created a dues postcard and added it to my business system and sent the dues reminder out. It actually cost the club $8.00 to create, stamp and send 22 dues reminders. Teh President was amazed at the cost but I was astonished at the responses the club received from our members. Our club had 75% of the members dues paid within 5 days of receiving the maililng and the rest were paid within thirty days. We had 91% of the members paid by the end of September 2008. HNT Dues Reminder

I didn’t write this to receive any credit. I just wanted to let you know that I just mailed those same dues postcards again. I am expecting a great response this year also.

If you are involved with an organization, business or corporation that requires some form of membership, make a creative postcard asking for the dues. The members will appreciate it, the organization will benefit and you will experience a great “SendOutCards” Moment”.
