Appreciate Forgiveness

June 12, 2009 By: The Card Sender Category: Personal Development

peace-be-unto-you I appreciate forgiveness because it allows me to experience emotional relief or better yet emotional release. Forgiveness lightens my mental load and makes space for love and kindness.

It takes a large amount of effort, energy and mental stress to hold onto anger when someone has wronged you. Most of us have very little experience at coping or dealing with forgiveness effectively.

A few months back a friend told me that he didn’t truly learn how to forgive until his mid-forties. It took someone almost dying for him to make this change. He used his personal three step method in forcing himself to forgive. At first it was difficult and he didn’t feel like the steps were working. As time moved on his “Wipe Away” method seemed to be working.

His Wipe Away method has three steps. The first step to forgiveness according to his method is to ask yourself the question – What good has this experience brought into my life? He said that he has found more good than bad in most situations where someone has wronged him.

His next step is to let the person know that they have wronged you. This seems like an easy thing to do. However there are rules to letting them know. You must be calm and level headed. You must plan and think out exactly what you want to say to them. You must be willing to listen to the other person. Most of the time, you will feel better after having had the conversation. should-keep-my-mouth-shut< Step three is the mental part of forgiveness. It is the moment you must deal with self. Find a quiet place that makes you feel strong, confident and positive. Make sure you stay in this place for an uninterrupted 30 minutes. You can sit up straight or lay on your back. Get comfortable. Now repeat out loud to yourself…I am forgiven, I have forgiven and I am at peace. After a few days you will feel better about forgiveness.

I appreciate forgiveness because it opens my heart to the God within me. It allows me to feel forgiven. Embrace the art of forgiveness today. Learn to appreciate the fact that you have been forgiven and then you will forgive others.

Inspire Appreciation!

April 22, 2009 By: The Card Sender Category: Personal Development

religous-2What are we doing to appreciate people that appreciate people?  I find it a tremendous payoff to see smiles on faces that have been appreciated for something they have done.  I also have found that I walk around more happier when I inspire people to appreciate.  Listed below are some very old truths that have been shared with me over the years.

Truth 1:  Appreciate the fact that you have been created for Right Now!

Truth 2: Appreciate you for your own inner greatness

Truth 3:  Appreciation for self will make you walk straighter, smile more often and breathe lighter

When you appreciate the fact that you have been born for a time such as now, it builds your inner person.  When you begin to appreciate yourself for the value you add to the world, it makes you want to explode into action. Wanting to do your part to make our world a better place.  When you walk with a confident strut, when your smiles radiate throughout the room and your breathing becomes one with peace and understanding…you know you are somebody.  When we can show appreciation for ourselves we willingly inspire others to appeciate themselves and they inspire others to appreciate themselves and so on and so on.

Our obligation is to inspire appreciation that will last a lifetime and then some.
